For sale is my lovely 1983 model Porsche 928S, finished in the rare rauchquarzmetallic colour, rare full leather interior and desirable 5-speed “dogleg” manual gearbox.
The 928S was sold new to a Swedish owner living in Gävle, North of Stockholm, with following options:
• – Electric and heated mirrors
• – Forged alloy wheels
• – Green tinted windows
• – Electric sliding roof
• – Radio and additional Amplifier
The maintenance booklet is present and shows several entries until 1989. In late 1988, at 74000km, the engine was rebuilt in the same Porsche workshop in Malmö where it was always serviced.
The extensive documentation includes MOT reports from 1985 until 2020, where the current mileage of approx. 140.000km can be confirmed.
Somewhere between 2008 and 2019, the 928S was unused until it came in the hands of the previous Swedish owner, who started the Porsche back up after doing following works:
• – Clutch bearing replacement
• – Full service incl. water pump and cambelts
• – New starter motor
• – LMM replacement
I have the 928S for approx. 5 years now and am regretfully selling because I have too many other vehicles needing my attention. In the last years I have spent over 15000€ in a specialized Porsche 928 workshop for following improvements:
- Full brake system overhaul
- New tires and shocks (Koni)
- Extra set of winterwheels
- Rebuilt gearbox and shift link system
- Rebuilt transaxle
- Full rebuild of injection system and iginition system
The 928S now starts and runs great, always a delight to drive. The effortless performance of the 4664cc V8 is very addictive, either enjoying the 300HP and V8 symphony at the higher revs or using the bulk of torque while being lazy to shift.
Cosmetically some improvements still can be made but mechanically she is now as good as it gets.
The interior is really nice and comfortable (period Blaupunkt radio is available but not installed). The electric seats work fine and offer a lot of room even for tall people like me. The dashboard cowl over the instrument cluster has a crack (like most 928’s).
In terms of reliability, I have driven the Porsche from Malmö to Belgium, which was a really nice experience. I am always happy to drive it back if a Swedish enthusiast decides to bring the car back to Sweden 🙂
I have always loved the shape of the S1 928, its pure design and standing out of the crowd, not being a 911 for once. And hey, the 928 being the first sports car being elected car of the year in 1977, I guess I have all the reason to love this car. Will you be the next one? Yours for 38.000€.
